One thing that has always annoyed me about tmux is its tendency to repeat commands when it’s not really appropriate. Turns out the only place I find it irritating is when switching tmux panes with <prefix> <arrowkey> (in my case, ^a Uparrow), so I found This blog post which rebinds the arrow keys to disable command repeating only when switching panes.
The relevant config is:
bind-key Up select-pane -U bind-key Down select-pane -D bind-key Left select-pane -L bind-key Right select-pane -R
Whew, feels like all I’ve been doing lately is yak shaving! Now I can finally get some work done.
